Six or eight people, an evening or a weekend, in the company of others who are also mid-change.
Small on purpose — six or eight people, no more. An evening, or occasionally a weekend. We walk in the morning if the weather allows, we eat together, and there is a long stretch of talking that I hold loosely.
Nobody presents. There is no round of introductions where you are asked to summarise your situation for strangers. What tends to happen is that someone says the thing they have not been able to say at home, and four other people recognise it, and the isolation loosens a little for everyone in the room.
Who this tends to fit. People whose thresholds have been lonely — where the people closest to them have run out of patience for it, or where saying it out loud at home would cost too much.
What happens after you write. I write back, and we talk before you commit to a date, because a gathering is a lot to walk into cold. Dates appear under Events when they are set.
That link opens a message to Jesse with this in the subject line. Nothing is booked or charged from it — he reads it and writes back.
